DEEPLY FIT
How do you know when you've truly reached your limits ?
When is the time to accept that you can't do something and that you've tried as much as you could to achieve it ?
I learned a valuable lesson one day while visiting my father in the hospital:
He had always been an incredibly strong man, both mentally as well as physically.
His was very intense, very focused, and had a tremendous amount of patience.
The crutch of our family.
Anything that any of us needed, Dad was always there to take care of it.
He could work all day doing exterior house painting, come home and take my mom to work, go back to painting for the duration of the day, come home to address anyone and anything that needed taken care of in the homestead, and then go and pick my mom up after she was finished work. He would then go to bed late and get up early the next day to repeat the entire process.
My Dad was truly aweinspiring and amazing.
One of a kind.
And the most mannerly man that I've ever known.
I was always so proud of my Dad.
He was unstoppable.
He was invincible.
.....And then came the cancer.
And then one day while visiting my father in the hospital I witnessed something that will be embedded in my mind forever.
While standing by his bedside, I watched him as he "TRIED" to reach over and grab a glass of water to get a drink.
And after a noble attempt, he just simply couldn't reach the glass.
He was too sick and weak.
He said to me, "Son, could you hand me my glass of water. I "TRIED", but I just can't reach it."
And my heart broke at that very moment.
I had never seen my Dad in a weakened state and unable to achieve something that he had wanted to do.
And I thought at that very moment, "This is the true definition of "TRYING" to do something and not being able to achieve it.
I knew that if my Dad said that he couldn't, then it couldn't be done.
The course of my life had been altered by witnessing that moment.
On that I day I learned what it was to "TRY".
SO IS THERE SOMETHING THAT YOU WANT TO ACCOMPLISH IN YOUR LIFE ?
HAVE YOU REALLY "TRIED" HARD ENOUGH ?
HAVE YOU EXHAUSTED ALL YOUR ABILITY TO ACHIEVE WHAT YOU WANT ?
THERE'S REALLY NOT MUCH THAT CAN STOP YOU.....
.....THAT IS, IF YOU LEARN TO "TRY".
SUCCESS FIRST BEGINS WITH AN ATTEMPT...
THEN IS POLISHED AND SHAPED IN THE "TRYING"...
AND THEN FULFILLED IN THE ACHIEVEMENT.
WHAT IF YOU TRIED JUST A LITTLE HARDER...
WHAT IF YOU TOOK A DIFFERENT PATH...
WHAT IF ?
